Church Building Project

Church Building Project

On 19th September, 2015, Emmanuel Church had a Thanksgiving Service to give praise to God for the opening of their new Church building extension.

The vision
To have a building that assists in the worship of God and fulfill the vision of seeing a multi-cultural church established in Handsworth, Birmingham to reach and serve the community

The need
The previous church building was quite small and cumbersome. Its layout was quite poor, giving people very little leg room, therefore it was no longer fit for purpose. The church decided to extend the building in the rear car park to hold 250 people

The scheme
The extension commenced in November 2013 with Phase 1 & 2 being completed in March 2014. To complete the project Phase 3 had to be delayed whilst the church applied for a loan from Kingdom Bank. The building was finished in April 2015 with the first service taking place on 17th May 2015.

The cost
The cost of the new building was £325,000. The church raised approximately £235,000 through regular offerings, gift days and external help. The remainder of the cost for Phase 3 was £90,000 which was taken as a loan from Kingdom Bank.

How can you help?

Pray for us
Thank God for His provision and pray that the Lord will greatly bless the work in this spiritually deprived part of the UK.

Financial help
The Church is eager to clear the remainder of the loan which currently stands at approximately £50,000. This will help to concentrate the finances more fully on the spiritual needs of the church. If you are in a position to help us financially, above are the three methods of giving.
